Mock Interview

Image
In order to prepare myself for the workplace, I am going to have a mock interview with David Longworth from the BBC. From my CV research I feel like I already know the processes of how an interview works. I know the way employers hire so therefore I can prepare myself effectively. The college held the mock interview in order to help and assist us in knowing what to expect in the future. In order to prepare myself, I went online to find out what is best to do in an interview. -Research company -Prepare for common interview questions -Prepare some questions to ask the interviewer at the end -Bring a copy of CV/ availability  -Turn off phone-STAR Method (situation, task, action, result) -Treat everyone you meet in the building as your interviewer.  Below is a copy and paste research in my CV research. Stage 3 - First interview/ interview: Commonly there are two types of interviews, Structured and unstructured interviews. Structured interviews, being shown to be almost more ...

Showreel

Image
A showreel is a short video reel  showing a your best work and projects you may have worked on. Showreels are mostly used by creatives in order to show clients a quick burst of their work. It allows the client to get a feel of the person's style of work.  It can also show past edits. For example, a creative could use their showreel to show past transitions and color grades in order to assist their client into making a more informed decision on the final piece. Communication is key in the creative industry, therefore being able to show a client as much information as possible will help the shoot and edit run more seamlessly.  My showreel will be used to show my past work, however showreels are also used by actors, animators, musicians, editors, and models. They are usually between 2 to 3 minutes long.  The best showreels contain the widest amount of work that a person has completed. For example, when coming to creating my showreel I am going to include my phot...

Create Britain

Image
My Website Shown here , Create Britain is a new and emerging platform made as an alternative to Google and aims to help makers and creators, such as actors, directors and filmmakers, promote their work locally, nationally and internationally. Creating a profile is free of charge and allows a creator to post all forms of media to their profile.  Giving creatives their own personal platform is hoping to allow creatives to find each other and collaborate easier on projects. The layout of create britain is the same for everyone, meaning that it is as simple as drag and drop in order to display your work. Using the same colors as displayed in my business card, I am giving the most amount of continuity possible. For the background of the logo, I used a gradient in photoshop to go from black to red and I believe it looks professional and uniform. For my Introduction, I took inspiration from my personal statement and slightly altered it in order for it to fit with the purpose of a website....

Digital Profiles

As shown in this link . A digital profile is a way to show your work to the world. The most common form of a digital profile is a website. Although websites are used in the world still. They are less common than they used to be a few years ago. My dad runs his own business and therefore runs his own digital profile. He gets work from the website, but only if people search for him. From this I can infer that websites are a good digital profile but only if the client is already looking for your services.  However he runs an instagram account as well. On social media, people can see his services and then be intrigued and want his services for themselves. Therefore, I believe that by using a combination of both websites and social media, you receive the best of both worlds within engagement into your audience. As Well as building a profile, constantly posting about the same topics, makes you appear professional and helps solidify that you are being hired by others for work and that you...
