What is a CV by definition?:  As explained on the Government Website ,  "A CV is a short, written summary of your skills, achievements and experience which relate to a role you want. You use it in the first stage of applying for jobs. Employers often ask for a CV instead of an application form but sometimes you'll need both." Why and when would you use a CV?: A Curriculum vitae is a snappy way to show an employer the reasons as to why you are a good fit for their company and what you can bring to the table. Most companies and employers will work in a process of elimination when it comes to hiring people. The CV is the first time an employer will be introduced to you so it must contain only the most vital and important information. The CV is normally quickly read over by the employer and they are looking for skills and experience that can help them. Personal Statements

  Wikipedia states:    "An admissions or application essay, sometimes also called a personal statement or a statement of purpose, is an essay or other written statement written by an applicant, often a prospective student applying to some college, university, or graduate school. The application essay is a common part of the university and college admissions process" In order for me to apply and be accepted I need to make my own personal statement and then send that to UCAS, where universities will read and see if they believe I am the best fit for their Uni. My first port-of-call was to look if UCAS offered any assistance with their personal statement writing. There is a page on UCAS that goes through personal statement writing and it is linked here . I now have a good understanding and grasp of how I will go about entering the industry. However, I still would like to look into University options and see what kind of opportunities arise from them.

Industry Research

 Film is what I wish to do as my future job, therefore I need to know what sector I want to work in or if there are other parts I can work in and enjoy if it does not work out.  First of all I am going to look into the beginning of a film career and see what the roles entail.  Essential Guide: Film Crew Positions Above and Below the Line. Commonly when making a film there is a line. Your role will either be above the line or under the line. People who have a less significant role within the production of the film will be classed as being under the line. People who are more significant, such as director, producer etc, Will be place above the line. The line is a reference to how you will be paid. Under the line refers to how you will be paid by the hour whereas above the line means you will be paid a set amount that is pre-established and agreed on.
